This is a post that I started last week when Andrew was awake for 3 hours in the middle of the night and I just now finished choosing our favorite photos- there were so many, that it took me a while to pick out some of my favorites! We are finally getting into a routine and we are slowly figuring out the two-child home and we are LOVING it...especially because there are quickly becoming mandatory naps and more sleep at night!
Here's my post from last week...
So...Andrew is wide awake right now, at 3:30 am. He's been awake since 1:45 am when he woke up for a feeding. So, Andrew and I are laying in our bed watching the Oprah show and I thought that this is a perfect time to write a little on the blog! Throughout the past few weeks, I have had no time to write on the blog- there have been many stories, updates, and events that I wanted to document, but just didn't have the time to do it. Life with TWO kids has been a change for us and we are having fun, but are also very busy with these boys!! We feel very blessed...even at 3:30 am...and I find myself being very thankful for this time we are getting together as a family!! Brandon and I are both so thankful for the time we've been given away from work to be at home with the boys- Brandon is off from work until January 15th and I'm home until the beginning of March. We both love the work we do with the University, but we are enjoying the work of "parenthood" right now! I wish I'd had more time throughout Christmas to document all of the fun things we did as a family, but I was so caught up in those moments that I didn't want to take the time to get on the computer....everyday Parker cracks us up at least a few times with a funny story or doing something that only Parker would do, and we are so amazed at how fast Andrew is growing and changing and getting his own little personality. So...I apologize for not updating this sooner, but here are a few of our favorite photos from the past few weeks of being at home with the boys and from Christmas.

Time....
I haven't posted anything for a while...but, rest assured, we are doing well and we had an amazing Christmas with Parker and Andrew!! I'll post more about everything we've been doing later- it seems like every time I sit down to update the blog and upload photos, Parker wants a snack, Andrew needs to be fed, the dryer buzzer goes off that the clothes are done, I see the pile of dishes in the sink and decide to do that instead, and with the holidays, we've been spending many of our days doing our many family traditions and I've thought to myself...."I can update the blog later...for now, I'm going to snuggle with the boys and spend as much time with our family as I can!" (Just FYI- I just had my "updating" interrupted by Parker accidently stepping on the remote and his PBS Kids show was switched to a talk show talking about "people having sex for money"...so, I ran over to switch it back before he picked up on the show!). More later!!

We're Home!
I know...it's been 4 days since we came home and I'm just now posting on our blog that we're all at home! As many of you know, life with a newborn at home is a big change...to say the least...and we couldn't be happier! We are busy (with Parker and Adnrew), incredibly sleep deprived, and we are loving (most of the time) every minute of it. Ask me again at 3 am!
Andrew came home on Tuesday, November 30th and we are all excited to be at home- Parker even went with us to bring him home and has been so sweet to his baby brother ever since! Andrew's health has improved tremendously and he's 2 oz. away from his birth weight of 8 lbs. 5 oz.
We want to THANK all of our friends and family who visited us at the hospital (both in Ottawa and Overland Park), everyone who sent us cards, text messages, posts on Facebook, prayed for us, prayed with us, and kept us in their thoughts throughout this whole time. We are so blessed with our family and friends and it truly showed the 10 days that Andrew was in the hospital. We appreciate Dr. Sinclair for her personal phone calls to us throughout it all, as well as all of the nurses, nurse practitioners, and doctors that worked with us and had a hand in helping Andrew. We had wonderful experiences with everyone we met and everyone that cared for Andrew. We also appreciate everyone that helped us with Parker- this was hard on him too and we are thankful for all of the grandparents, aunts, and cousins that helped take care of him while we were at the hospital.
I know that what we went through was a small dose of what other parents of babies in the NICU are going through, so I am continuing to keep those families in my thoughts everyday and pray that their precious babies get to go home soon! There are some tough little babies in the NICU and they are fighting hard to get bigger and healthier so that they can be with their families all the time- keep praying for them!
We are enjoying our time together as a family- Brandon has the entire month of December off from work and I am off until the first week of March! This is such a special time for our family and we are so thankful to have two healthy boys to smooch on and snuggle with this winter! We are home!
